Finding gold is difficult! The old-timers (georgia gold rush of 1829) had a pretty good idea of where the placer and lode deposits in GA resided. So, using historical data to find gold is always a good idea. Here is a list of gold mines in the state of GA in KMZ format:

This file can be imported into Google Earth and give you a idea of where gold was found in the past.
- Install or open Google Earth
- Once in google Earth, click file open
